Our Stylists
Paige - Owner / Level 5
Paige has been the owner of Design Studio East since September of 2009. She joined the industry in 1998 as a receptionist followed by an apprenticeship in 2000. She has wanted to be a cosmetologist since she can remember. Paige love’s teaching and continued education with her team and is proud to have a teaching salon with students she can inspire as well as share her knowledge and passion for the beauty business with. Paige has traveled from the east coast to the west coast and from north to south continuing her education and keeping up on her skills. When she’s not behind the chair, she enjoys spending time with her family, running and filling her passport with stamps!
Sarah - Manager / Level 3
In 2018, Sarah embarked on her journey in the hair industry as an apprentice, driven by a passion for transforming styles. Specializing in blonding, color services, and indulging in her love for hair extensions, she finds joy in bringing creativity to life. Beyond the salon, her heart belongs to travel, enriching experiences, and a commitment to ongoing education in the ever-evolving world of hair. Sarah’s true treasures lie with spending time with her husband and two children, creating cherished memories while exploring the world and savoring the moments that life outside of work offers.
Beth / Level 5
Beth is a graduate of The School of Designing Arts in Battle Creek. She joined Design Studio East in June of 2012. Beth has traveled to Chicago, New York City, Orlando, and Long Beach furthering her education and staying on top of trends. Beth’s artistic abilities aren’t limited to delivering beautiful hair, outside of the salon Beth loves and is extremely talented at painting and also enjoys traveling and going to concerts.
Caylie / Level 4
Meet Caylie, a seasoned stylist who joined DSE from Jackson Salon Academy in 2016. Passionate about self-improvement and career growth, Caylie explores various destinations for ongoing education. As a valued member of our leadership team, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the salon. Beyond the salon chair, Caylie cherishes moments with her twin boys and fiancé, making the most of her time outside the world of hairstyling. Click here for pricing
Shauna / Level 4
Shauna has been part of the DSE Team for 5 years. She graduated from Abbot Cosmetology School in Saint Louis, Missouri. This mother of 5 enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, cooking, and kayaking. Shauna has been involved in continuous education with her team at DSE and has traveled to Las Vegas, Orlando, New York, and LA to keep her skills up to date and on-trend.
Sydney / Level 4
Sydney joined our staff as a receptionist in September 2015, while attending Douglas J Aveda Institute part-time. Not long after her graduation in October 2016, she became a stylist. Sydney has traveled from NYC to Chicago, to LA to keep her skills behind the chair top notch. Outside of work, Sydney enjoys spending time with her family and spoiling her niece and nephew with love.
Hannah / Level 4
Hannah graduated from Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing, MI in July 2016, and then joined the DSE Team. Professional growth and education are a very high priority for Hannah. She strives to continually learn how to better herself as a hairstylist and as a businesswoman. She has attended continuing education in Chicago, NYC, Tampa, and LA. When she’s not working or hanging out at DSE on her days off, she’s enjoying traveling with her family-Destin, FL being her favorite destination.
Kay / Apprentice
Liz / Apprentice
Liz has been a receptionist for DSE since August 2018. Starting in 2021 she became an apprentice. She also has a passion for our industry and plans to be a licensed cosmetologist or barber in the future. When she’s not taking care amazing of the stylists and their guests at DSE, she’s traveling and/or spending time with her boyfriend, Lucas and their dog Doofy!. She also loves growing cactus!
MYC / Level 3 Stylist
Myc joined the DSE family in August of 2017, right after graduating from the Douglas J Institute of East Lansing. Myc loves hair coloring and furthering her knowledge through continuing education. She has attended the International Beauty Show in Long Beach, California. When she is not working, she is volunteering at her church and spending time with her husband and their beautiful daughter.
